Field test.

Sasha took this polaroid of me in India. We were doing tests for The Searchers, trying to find exactly the right combination of over-exposure and depth-of-field. We were on a rooftop, I think, feeling like maybe we were on our way to figuring out one tiny aspect of that intricate and every-expanding project.

It's the part of the process I like the best -- the figuring-it-out. Right after the panic, and right before the execution. . .
